2011 U.S. Army High School Drum Line & Mariachi Contest
Project Description: Eighteen high schools from Bexar and surrounding counties will compete before a live audience at Sunset Station on Friday, January 7, 2011 as part of the U.S. Army High School Drum Line &  Mariachi Contest.  The music extravaganza is one of many events to kick-off the exciting U.S. Army All-American Bowl.  Judges critique each musical performance and audience members can text vote for their favorite high school. $19,800 in educational scholarships will be awarded by Music In The Schools to all performing schools.

2010 Musical Instrument Drive
Project Description: Dust off your old instruments and donate them to Music In The Schools at our community Musical Instrument Drive.  New and used instruments will be collected from the public on December 4, 2010 at Alamo Music Center on Babcock & 410.  Music teachers can apply for donated instruments for their school’s music program at www.MusicInTheSchools.com/need-instruments.  Instruments will be delivered December and January to students in area elementary, middle and high schools.  Contributors are invited to participate in the delivery of instruments to students.

Mozart’s Corner
Description:  Want to know who the top music students are in the state of Texas?  Music In The Schools publishes an online and annual publication of the best student musicians Texas has to offer.  Music teachers nominate their top students from Choir, Band and Orchestra to be selected by a distinguished panel of music critics.  Students are judged on their musical achievements, grade point average, community involvement and audition submissions.  Publications are mailed to the top music schools in the nation just in time for college recruiting. 

Launch Date: 1st quarter 2011
Submission is open to any high school student attending a Texas public school.
US Army All American Bowl

2010 U.S. Army High School Drum Line and Mariachi Contest
Project Description:  Music In The Schools partners with the U.S. Army All-American Bowl to produce a citywide high school music extravaganza on January 9, 2010.  Twelve high schools from the greater San Antonio area compete before a live audience.  A panel of distinguished judges score each performance and the audience casts their favorite by text voting.  Music In The Schools awards $12,000 in educational scholarships to competing schools.
